The Heart Behind the Art

Hi, I'm Elizabeth!

I have always been deeply captivated by fresh flowers—there is a quiet magic in them. If I had to choose, my lifelong favorites will always be peonies, ranunculus, and David Austin roses.

When my husband, Rob, and I first started dating, he would make the hour-plus drive just to see me, always showing up with fresh flowers in hand week after week. It was the sweetest gesture, but it always broke my heart a little to toss them out the second they began to fade. I hated the thought of such intentional beauty just disappearing.

Last year, during a profoundly vulnerable season of healing and trauma therapy following a diagnosis of BPD and CPTSD, my therapist suggested finding a creative outlet to help anchor me. Looking for a way to quiet my mind, I started exploring ways to preserve all those flowers Rob had been giving me over the years. I stumbled across drying flowers in silica. It felt intimidating at first, but I decided to just jump in and teach myself the art of it.

After weeks and weeks of drying random blooms from my husband and our backyard, I found myself sitting with a large plastic box full of delicate, dried flowers—and absolutely no idea what to do with them all. That’s when I stumbled upon the world of resin and bouquet preservation. And honestly? The rest is history. I completely fell in love with the intricate process of capturing a fleeting moment and turning it into permanent art.

The idea for The Keepsake Garden truly blossomed when I reached out to my friend Kristen, who owns a local floral shop, to see if I could buy her extra stems to practice with. When I showed her what I was working on, she looked at me and said, "When you're ready to take orders, let me know."

Today, every single piece that comes through my studio is handled by my own two hands. I know firsthand how much a single stem can hold emotionally, and it is the honor of a lifetime to help you hold onto yours.

There is a quiet, sacred kind of weight that comes with a bouquet.

When you hand me your flowers, you aren't just giving me stems to preserve; you are trusting me with a physical piece of your history—the joy of a wedding day, the warmth of a celebration, or the memory of someone deeply loved.Because I work as a solo artist, every single phase of this process happens right here in my studio, guided by my own two hands. I deconstruct your arrangement with the same tenderness it took to gather it, painstakingly drying each petal in silica to lock in its true color, and carefully casting it into resin or framing it as a permanent piece of art.I don't believe in assembly lines or rushing perfection. I believe in slow, intentional craftsmanship that honors the story behind your blooms. When your finished piece hangs on your wall or rests on your shelf, I want it to bring you right back to that exact moment in time—vibrant, breathing, and entirely yours.
