Fresh Flower Care & Drop-Off Guide

Immediate Post-Event Tips
Trim the Stems:
As soon as your celebration winds down, use sharp shears or a knife to cut about half an inch off the bottom of your stems at a 45-degree angle to help them stay hydrated.
Keep Them Hydrated:
Place your bouquet upright in a clean container filled with fresh, cool water. Ensure the water covers the stems while keeping the blooms and foliage dry.
Find a Cool, Safe Spot:
Store your arrangement in a cool, dark room away from direct heat, heavy foot traffic, and drafts so the flowers can rest comfortably overnight.
What to Avoid
Keep Out of Direct Sunlight:
Never leave your bouquet in a sunny window, a warm car, or outdoors, as direct heat will rapidly dehydrate the petals.
Avoid Laying Them Flat:
Never lay your bouquet flat on a table, counter, or in a box, which can bruise the delicate petals and distort their shape.
Skip the Refrigerator:
Avoid putting your arrangement in a standard kitchen fridge, especially near produce, as ripening fruits release ethylene gas that causes flowers to age prematurely.
Coordinating Your Drop-Off
Because freshness is everything when it comes to silica drying, timing is critical right after your celebration. You will coordinate a local drop-off with me for the day after the event. If you are jetting off on your honeymoon or simply resting, a designated friend or family member can easily handle this step and bring the bouquet to my studio on your behalf.
